Abstract

Günümüze kadar Osmanlı Arşivleri tamamen incelenmiş ve tasnif edilmiş değildir Halbuki bu eşsiz arşivlerin okunarak verilen bilgilerin taranması son derece önemlidir. Çünkü geçmişin karanlıkta kalan yönlerinin aydınlatılması bu günlerimizi anlamamıza katkı sağlıyacaktır. Trabzon yöresi arşivlerini, yörenin hem bize yakın olmasından hem de yeterince buradaki arşivlerin incelenmemesinden seçtik ve 2079 no'lıı Trabzon şer'iyye sicili kayıtlarını tezimizin konusu olarak tesbit ettik. Bu incelememizin sonucunda, bugün artık kullanılmayan bir takım lakapların dönemin Trabzon eşrafında, kişilerin durumunu gösteri ricesinc kullandığına şahit olduk. Yine Trabzon merkezindeki medreselerin ayakta kalması için vakıfların kurulduğunu, halkın geçim düzeninin ne şekilde olduğunu ve nerede iskan ettiklerini nüfus oranlarını ve saire gibi durumları tesbit ederek kayıt altına aldık, Kısaca bu çalışmamız bize Trabzon'un eski yaşam tarzı ve sosyo-ekonomik durumu hakkında etraflıca bilgi sundu.

Ottoman archives have not been fuily examined and classified until now. Indeed reading and interpreting those archives is of great importance due to the fact that to shed light on some yet unexamined aspects of our past will provide us with fresh understanding our present days. Hence we chose the archives of the court of Trabzon City as the topic of the dissertation because Trabzon is our neighbourhood and the archives there are to be analysed. Thus this dissertation aims at interpreting I he judicial records of the court of Trab/on (no:2()79). This dissertation argues thai some nicknames or surnames (iakab in Turkish I were employed to designate the social status of some high-class people in Trabzon during the Ottoman Period. Again some foundations, were established (o sustain Madrasah (school )This dissertation explored the economical situalions,inhabiting positions, population density of Trabzon neighbourhood. Briefly meniioned,this dissertation attempts to manifest the life style and socio-economical situations of the people in Trabzon.
