Publication: Mercurialis Annua L. (Euphorbiaceae) Tohumlarının Çimlenmesine Farklı Ortam Şartlarının Etkisi Üzerine Bir Araştırma
Abstract
In this study, some morphological features of a cosmopolitan, annual, herbaceous, dioic and ruderal species, Mercurialis annua L. (Euphorbiaceae), as well as changes in germination characteristics of its seeds as a function of environmental factors in different medium (environment, day, temperature and the amount of light) and applications (gibberellin, cold stratification and darkness) were investigated. According to the results of the study, the environment, day and temperature factors and giberellin, cold stratification and darkness applications have significant effects on the germination of Mercurialis annua seeds. In this study, where different combinations of factors and applications were investigated in 8 different test groups, the germination performance of each test group was significantly different, and the best germination performance was observed in the test group in which a dark environment in a 25oC climate chamber was used and gibberellin and cold stratification were not applied (G-, S-, F+).
