Abstract
Green networking and Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emission reduction in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is one of the increasingly popular matters nowadays. Green networking which on the other hand is energy efficiency type has a very important place in data center networking. Increasing computing capacity in data centers has directly affected the cost and operating expenses. This idea of energy- efficiency is sensitive to the ecological issues as well as such interest contribute the economic needs since energy costs and electrical requirements of Telecom operators and Internet Service Providers infrastructures is showing a growing level. In this thesis, an energy efficient Three Tier High Speed Data Center (3Ths DC) in GreenCloud simulator is simulated. Beside the workload information, amount of the consumed energy by the data center components (servers, switches, and links) is also captured by the simulator. The simulation obtains results for three tier data center architecture with different parameters. Obtained results will be experimentally compared and statistical results will be discussed.
