Kültürel Farklılıkların Belirsizliğe Karşı Tutumuna Etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Kültürel Farklılıkların Belirsizliğe Karşı Tutuma Etkisi'ni araştırmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti'ndeki 3 üniversiteden yabancı uyruklu öğrenciler, KKTC vatandaşı öğrenciler ve Türkiye'den okumaya giden öğrencilerle birlikte Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi'nde okuyan toplam 1230 öğrencinin katılımıyla anket uygulamaları yapılmıştır. Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Belirsizliğe Karşı Tutum ölçeği kullanılarak elde edilen verilerin analizi ile araştırmanın denenceleri test edilmiştir. Bulgular üniversite öğrencilerinin belirsizliğe karşı tutumlarının cinsiyete göre anlamlı olarak değiştiğini göstermektedir. Yabancı uyruklu öğrencilerin belirsizliğe karşı tutum puanları ortalamaları Türk ve Türk kökenli üniversite öğrencilerine göre oldukça düşüktür. Öğrencilerin dini inançlarına ve okudukları bölümlere göre testler yapılmıştır. Bu sonuçlar Müslüman öğrencilerin diğer inançlara sahip öğrencilere göre daha fazla belirsizlik yaşadığını göstermektedir. Okudukları bölümlere göre yapılan değerlendirmede ise Güzel Sanatlarda okuyan öğrenciler diğer bölümlerde okuyan öğrencilerden daha az belirsizlik yaşadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. İlgili bulgular çeşitli araştırmaların sonuçlarıyla birlikte tartışılmıştır. En sonunda da bu konuda çalışma yapacak psikolojik danışmanlara ve diğer araştırmacılara yardımcı olmak amacıyla önerilere yer verilmiştir. This study aimed to explore the Effect of Cultural Differences in Attitudes Towards Uncertainty. For this purpose, survey was conducted with the participation of a total of 1230 students from 3 universities which have foreign students, turkish students and cpriots in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and 19 Mayis Universtiy. Research hypotheses were tested with the analysis of the data by using Personal Information Form and Attitude Towards Uncertainty Scale. Findings showed that the attitude towards uncertainy of university students were significantly change according to gender. Mean points of attitudes towards uncertainty of foreign students were quite low from Turkish and Cypriot students. Tests were also conducted according the students' religious beliefs and departments. These findings showed that Muslim students have more uncertainty than the other students. The evaluation was based on departments of students showed that students of the Fine Arts have less uncertainty than students at other departments. Findings were discussed with the results of different researches. In the end, recommendations were given to counselors and other researchers which will research the same subject to asisst them.
