Publication: Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Stresle Başa Çıkma Stratejilerinin Yordayıcısı Olarak Ebeveyn Kabul Red Algısı
Abstract
Öğrencilerin ebeveyn kabul-red algısı ve stresle başaçıkma tarzları ile ilişkili olabileceği düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı kabul-red algısı ve stresle başaçıkma tutumları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi'nin Eğitim, Fen-Edebiyat, Mühendislik, İlahiyat, Veterinerlik, Tıp, Diş Hekimliği Fakültelerinde 2019-2020 eğitim-öğretim yılında devam etmekte olan ve tabakalı örnekleme tekniği ile ulaşılan 540 kadın, 282 erkek olmak üzere toplam 822 üniversite öğrencisi yer almaktadır. Çalışmada veriler Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Yetişkin Ebeveyn Kabul-Red Ölçeği-Kısa Form (Yetişkin EKRÖ/K), Stresle Başaçıkma Tarzları Ölçeği (SBTÖ) ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma elde edilen veriler SPSS 22 programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bu araştırmada üniversite öğrencilerin ebeveyn kabul-red algıları ile stresle başaçıkma tarzları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olup olmadığını belirlemek için Pearson Korelasyon Analizine, stresle başaçıkma tarzlarının anne kabul-red algısı ve baba kabul-red algısı tarafından yordanıp yordanmadığını tespit etmek için Çoklu Doğrusal Regresyon Analizi ve anne kabul-red, baba kabul-red ve stresle başaçıkma tarzlarını cinsiyete göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini belirlemek için Tek Yönlü Manova Analizi kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçları incelendiğinde, genç yetişkinlik döneminde ebeveyn kabul-red algısı ile stersle başaçıkma tarzları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiş, ebeveyn kabul-red algısı bireylerin stresle başaçıkma tarzlarının anlamlı bir yordayıcısı olarak saptanmış ve cinsiyet değişkenine göre ebeveyn kabul-red algısı ile stresle başaçıkma tarzlarının anlamlı farklılık göstermediği sonucuna varılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, ilgili yazın çerçevesinde değerlendirilmiştir.
It is thought that students may be associated with parental rejection- perception and stress coping styles. The main aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the perception of acceptance- rejection and coping strategies. In the research, there are 822 university students in total that 540 of them are women and 282 of them are men, who are going Ondokuz Mayıs University's different Faculties like faculty of Education, Science-Literature, Engineering, Theology, Veterinary Medicine, Medicine and Dentistry in the 2019-2020 academic year. In the study, the data were collected by Individual Information Form, Adult Parental Acceptance- Rejection Questionnaire-Short Form (Adult PARQ / S), Stress Coping Styles Scale (SCSS). The obtained data from the research were analyzed by using the SPSS 22 program. In this study, to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the parental acceptance-rejection perceptions of the university students and their coping styles with stress, the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis to determine whether the styles of coping with stress are predicted by the perception of the mother acceptance- rejection and the father acceptance- rejections. The Manova Analysis was used to determine whether mother acceptance- rejection, father acceptance- rejection and stress coping styles different according to gender. When the results of the data are analyzed, a significant relation was found between parental acceptance-rejection perception and the ways of coping with stress in young adulthood, parental acceptance-rejection perception was determined as a significant predictor of individuals' coping styles with stress and coping with stress with parental acceptance-rejection perception according to gender variable. It was concluded that their styles did not differ significantly. The findings were evaluated within the framework of the related literature
