Publication: Krakow'da Seçilmiş Organik Topraklarda Ağır Metal Kirliliğinin Değerlendirilmesi
Abstract
Organic soils have the ability to bind and accumulate large amounts of heavy metals compared to mineral soils. In Krakow the areas with organic soil are found to be very less but it is necessary to maintain the ecological balance. This study was done to determine the total content of 6 heavy metals in organic soil and to assess the pollution degree using Igeo, EF, PINemerow, RI and CSI. Field studies were conducted in 6 study areas in Krakow and samples was taken from a depth of 0-30 cm layer of soil. The value of pH, organic matter content and total content of Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn were analyzed. The content of heavy metals in studied soils was in the order: Zn > Pb > Cr > Cu > Ni > Cd. The results showed that anthropogenic influence particularly affected the elevated content of Cd, Pb and Zn in the studied soils.
