Yükseköğretimde Yalın Düşünce ve Bir Model Önerisi

Abstract

Dünya çapında kalite iyileştirmeye yönelik birçok çaba ortaya koyuluyor olsa da bunların büyük çoğunluğu kalitenin anlamını doğru bir şekilde idrak etmekten uzak kalmaktadır. Sürekli tekrarlanan işlerin yapıldığı bir sistemde kalitenin nasıl sağlanacağı ve iyileştirileceğine dair eski yaklaşımlar etkinliğini yavaş yavaş yitirmektedir. Toyota sayesinde ilk olarak üretim sektöründe karşımıza çıkan yalın düşünce sadece bir araç ve teknikler bütünü olmaktan öte bir iş yapma felsefesidir. Bu özelliği sayesinde farklı sektörlere uyarlanma şansı tanımaktadır. Günümüzde eğitim sektörü özelinde yükseköğretim kurumlarında yalın düşünce uygulamalarına rastlamak mümkündür. Yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda yükseköğretim kurumlarında var olan israfların ortadan kaldırılmasında, süreçlerin iyileştirilmesinde, verilen eğitim hizmetlerinin kalitesinin arttırılmasında ve personellerin kendini geliştirmesinde yalın düşünce ilke ve tekniklerinin kullanılması olumlu sonuçlar doğurmaktadır. Sürekli iyileştirme ve insana saygı çerçevesinde kurum içerisinde bir iyileştirme kültürü oluşturmayı hedefleyen yalın düşünce bu sayede etkinlik, verimlilik ve kalite artışı yaşanmasına pozitif katkıda bulunmaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasıyla yükseköğretimde yalın düşünce adı verilen bu yeni alan daha görünür ve anlaşılır hale getirilmeye çalışılmakta, yükseköğretimde başarılı bir uygulama için gereken faktörlerin ve izlenmesi gereken adımlarının açıklandığı bir model önerisinde bulunulmaktadır.While there are many efforts to improve quality around the world, the vast majority of them are far from properly understanding the meaning of quality. Old approaches to how to ensure and improve quality in a system where constantly repeating jobs are gradually lost their effectiveness. The lean approach, which was first encountered in the manufacturing sector thanks to Toyota, is more than just a tool and a set of techniques, it is a philosophy of doing business. Thanks to this feature, it provides a chance to adapt to different sectors. Today, if we talk more specifically in the education sector, it is possible to come across Lean practices in higher education institutions. As a result of the researches, the use of Lean principles and techniques has positive results in solving the waste encountered in higher education institutions, improving the processes, increasing the quality of the education service provided and the self-improvement of the personnel. It creates a culture of improvement within the institution within the framework of continuous improvement and respect for people. In this way, it contributes positively to the increase in efficiency, efficiency and quality. With this thesis, this new field, which is called lean thinking in higher education, is tried to be made more visible and understandable, and a model is proposed in which the necessary factors and the steps to be followed for a successful application in higher education are explained.
