Abstract
Bu araştırmada engelli öğrencilerin ihmal ve istismara maruz kalma düzeylerini incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla Samsun ve Şanlıurfa illerinde çeşitli özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde öğrenim gören 74 ortopedik engelli, 95 özel öğrenme güçlüğü ve 105 duygusal davranışsal ve sosyal uyum güçlüğü olmak üzere toplam 274 öğrenciye, Oral ve Akdaş tarafından (2004) geliştirilen Çocuk İstismarı Tarama Anketinin, 10-11 yaş grubu için oluşturulmuş, 39 soruluk formu uygulanmıştır. Yapılan araştırma ortopedik engelli ve özel öğrenme güçlüğü çeken öğrencilerin, duygusal davranışsal ve sosyal uyum güçlüğüne sahip öğrencilerden ve küçük yaştaki engelli öğrencilerin, ön ergen ve ergenlik dönemindeki engelli öğrencilerden daha fazla ihmal ve istismara uğradıklarını, örnekleme giren engelli öğrencilerin cinsiyetlerinin ise ihmal ve istismar için anlamlı bir fark oluşturmadığını ortaya koymaktadır.Anahtar Sözcükler: Çocuk İstismarı, Çocuk İhmali, Engelli, Özürlülük, Bedensel Engelli, Öğrenme Güçlüğü, Duygusal Davranışsal ve Sosyal Uyum Güçlüğü
In this study, we aimed to identify the extent of abuse and neglect among disabled students. By this purpose, 274 students attending various special education and rehabilitation centre in Samsun and Şanlıurfa were enrolled in this study. 74 physically disabled, 95 mentally retarded and 105 behavioural/emotional disordered students were inquired with a Standard 39 question of Child Abuse and Neglect Questionnaire. The questionnaire was developed by Oral and Akdaş specifically for children ages 10-11. study findings indicate that students with physical disabilities and learning difficulties were more likely abused or neglected than students with emotional/behavioural and social disorders. Young students have reported much more abuse and neglect experiences than adolescents have.
