Abstract
AMAÇ: Fırsatçı bir mikroorganizma olarak bilinen Toxoplasma gondii (T.gondii)'nin diabetik hastalardaki seroprevalansı araştırıldı. YÖNTEM: Tip II Diabetes Meilitus (DM)'lu 56 hasta ve 46 sağlıklı kişide (kontrol grubu) ELISA yöntemi kullanılarak, T.gondii'ye karşı oluşan antikorlar araştırıldı. BULGULAR: Diabetik hastaların 41 (%73.2)'nde 'IgG ve 1(%I.8)'inde IgM saptandı.
OBJECTIVE: Seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii (T.gondii) which is well known as an opportunist microorganism was investigated in diabetic patients who are also well known as immune compromised. METHOD: Antibodies against T.gondii were measured by using ELISA test in 56 Type 11 Diabetes Meilitus (DM) patients and 46 healty persons (control group). RESULTS: Of 56 Type IJ Diabetic patients IgG was detected in 41 (73.2%) and IgM in 1 (1.8%). Of control group IgG was detected 19 (41.3%) and IgM in 1 (2.8%). The difference was statistically significant IgG between both groups (p< 0,01).. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, latent toxoplasmosis has been investigated suitable approach in diabetic patients, which immune system could be disordered.
