Abstract
This study was carried out to improve the effectiveness of weed control in corn production during 2011 -2012 years at the Black Sea Agricultural Research Institute. To reduce weed competition, the applicability of early tillage and pre-sowing and pre-emergence treatment of glyphosate in combination with other methods of weed controls was investigated in this study. Experiments were conducted in randomized blocks in a split plots experimental design with four replications. Glyphosate treatment periods and mechanical control were placed into main plots and pre + post emergence herbicide and hoeing treatments were placed into sub-plots. As a result it has been concluded that pre sowing and pre emergence application of glyphosate could be applied in corn production. The lowest weed biomass was obtained from the preemergence glyphosate applied plots and post-emergence selective herbicide applied plots. © Ankara Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi.
