Study of Chemical Composition of Wet Deposition in Samsun

Abstract

Only wet samples were collected daily at three sites around the city on an event basis during the rainy days of 1987. The results were examined for spatial and temporal variations in the acidity and in the concentrations of major cations and anions. At the sites not under the influence of urban emissions, the concentrations of cations and anions were similar in winter and summer seasons. In areas under the influence of urban emission, local land use and agriculture, seasonal variations were obtained in the acidity and in the NH4+ and SO42- concentrations. -from Authors
