Abstract
Popular culture as a product of consciousness of industrialization, has been influential in many parts of society as a phenomenon of consumption. Art and as a branch of it literature also enter into this popular culture. Popular novel which is the branch of popular literature has an important share. Popular novel, which is influential for putting the politics, public and cultural mentalities of is written period down the people, is also a description adopted among the authors of Islamic literature. Popular Islamic novels had given the first specimens in 60s, and then they had developed rapidly in this area. During the 40 years? time from 60s to 2000s, Islamic novels have shown acute differentiations, for their subject matters and their processing. The background of this change in popular Islamic novels is the basic problem of this work. Have the novels reflected the period in which they have been written, or have they aimed to give from the period which they have been within? This, is the other question which we are looking for its answer. In the evaluation which is made over the novels, 4 names were taken basic. These are; from 60s ?Minyeli Abdullah? by Hekimoğlu İsmail, from70s ?Huzur Sokağı? by Şule Yüksel Şenler, from 80s ?Yalnız Değilsiniz? by Üstün İnanç and from 90s ?Halkaların Ezgisi? by Halime Toros. We have seen on the point which we have reached that, political and social developments, which have been lived in the world and in Turkey, have given form the perception of the religious Islam for Muslims. And this makes the identity change inescapable. Many serious transformations had been lived upon the perception, living and approaching against the world worth?s and whole these became theme fort he novels from the authors pens. Instead of yesterday?s novel heroes who had become a Muslim, today, the availability of the novel heroes who are examining the process on the point of Hidayah is very important fort this work
