Mu(3)-Oxo-Hexa-Mu(2)-Pivalato-(Pivalic Acid-kappa O)-Bis(Pyridine-kappa N)Trimanganese(III,III,II)

Abstract

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn<inf>3</inf>(C <inf>5</inf>H<inf>9</inf>O<inf>2</inf>)<inf>6</inf>O(C<inf>5</inf>H <inf>5</inf>N)<inf>2</inf>(C<inf>5</inf>H<inf>10</inf>O<inf>2</inf>)]) comprises two independent and similar [Mn<inf>2</inf>IIIM IInO{(CH<inf>3</inf>)<inf>3</inf>CCO<inf>2</inf>}<inf>6</inf>(py) <inf>2</inf>-(CH<inf>3</inf>)<inf>3</inf>CCOOH] (py = pyridine) molecules each with an Mn<inf>3</inf>(μ<inf>3</inf>-O) core. In each molecule, the Mn atoms have octahedral geometry with two coordinated pyridines bonded to two Mn III and a terminal pivalic acid coordinated to the MnII atom. © 2006 International Union of Crystallography All rights reserved.
