Amasya Büyük Ağa Medresesi ve Şehrin İlim-Kültür Hayatına Etkisi

Abstract

Amasya tarih boyunca birçok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmış, şehzâdelerin devlet yönetimi için hazırlandığı bir merkez olması sebebiyle Osmanlı döneminde de hususi yerini muhafaza etmiştir. Bu dönemde birçok âlimin yetişmesine ev sahipliği yapan Amasya, ilmî ve tarihsel açıdan müstesna bir konumda bulunmaktadır. Amasya'nın bu özel konumunun ortaya çıkarılması, Amasya'da bulunan eğitim merkezlerinin irdelenmesi ve buralarda yetişen şahsiyetlerin araştırılması günümüze ışık tutacaktır. Zira ilim, süreklilik ifade eden, medeniyetin köklerinden beslenen bir olgudur. Medeniyetimizde vücut bulmuş eğitimci ve öğrenci karakteri, eğitim müesseseleri ve ilmin bir şehrin yükselişine etkileri geçmişten ilhamla günümüze yansıtılabilecektir. Bu meyanda çalışmamız, ilmin ortaya çıkışına atıfla İslâm Tarihi'ndeki ilk eğitim kurumlarına, medresenin oluşum ve gelişim aşamalarına, Osmanlı dönemindeki medrese sistematiğine, Büyük Ağa Medresesi özelinde de Amasya Medreseleri'nin bir şehrin ihyasına yaptığı katkıyı gün yüzüne çıkarmayı amaç edinmiştir. Büyük Ağa Medresesi gibi 15. yüzyılda hizmet vermeye başlamış önemli bir eğitim kurumunun bu niteliğini sürdürmesine rağmen mimarî özellikleri dışında müstakil bir çalışmaya konu edilmemesi bizi bu alanda çalışmaya sevk eden temel saiktir. Bu amaç çerçevesinde çalışmamızın ilk bölümünde, 'Ortaya Çıkışından Osmanlı'ya Kadar Medreseler' konusu ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde 'Osmanlı Dönemi Medreseleri' birçok yönüyle incelenmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise Amasya'nın müstesna yerinin ilim ve medreselerle bağı merkeze alınarak 'Amasya Medreseleri' başlığında ortaya konmuştur. Tezimizin son bölümü olan dördüncü bölümünde 'Amasya Büyük Ağa Medresesi' kuruluşundan günümüze kadar, şehre ve ilme katkılarıyla sunulmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmamızda Büyük Ağa Medresesi'nde ulemâdan sayılan müderrisler tarafından dersler verildiği, medresenin sistematik bir yönetim ve idarî yapıya sahip olduğu, Haremeyn Evkâfı'na tabi olduğu, Osmanlı medreseler derecelendirmesinde ellili medreseler sınıfında bulunduğu ve halen günümüzde Amasya'da ilmî, dinî ve sosyal hayatın merkezinde bulunduğu, yetiştirdiği öğrencilerle hem ülkemizde hem de dünyada söz sahibi olan bir eğitim kurumu olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Amasya has hosted many civilizations throughout history and preserved this special place in the Ottoman Period as well, as it was a center where princes were prepared for state administration. Amasya, which hosted the training of many scholars during this period, is in an exceptional position in terms of science and history. Uncovering this special position of Amasya, examining the education centers in Amasya and researching the personalities raised there will shed light on the present day. Because science is a phenomenon that expresses continuity and feeds from the roots of civilization. The educator and student character embodied in our civilization, educational institutions and the effects of science on the rise of a city in our civilization can be reflected to the present with inspiration from the past. In this context, our study aims to uncover the contribution of the first educational institutions in the history of Islam, the formation and development stages of the madrasah, the madrasah systematics in the Ottoman Period, and the contribution of the Amasya Madrasahs to the revival of a city in particular, with reference to the emergence of science. Although an important educational institution like Büyük Ağa Madrasah that started to serve in the 15th century maintains this quality, it has not been the subject of an independent study other than its architectural features, which is the main motive that prompts us to work in this field. For this purpose, in the first part of our study, the subject of 'Madrasahs from Its Emergence to the Ottoman Empire' was discussed. In the second chapter, 'Ottoman Period Madrasahs' are examined in many aspects. In the third part, the connection of the special place of Amasya with science and madrasahs was put in the center under the title of 'Amasya Madrasahs'. In the fourth chapter, which is the last and main chapter of our thesis, 'Amasya Büyük Ağa Madrasah' has been presented with contributions to the city and science since its establishment. In our study, in Büyük Ağa Madrasah, it was given knowledge by the professors counted from the ulemâ, the madrasah had a systematic management and administration style, it was subject to the Haremeyn Evkâfı, it was in the class of fifty madrasahs in the ranking of Ottoman madrasahs, as well as the scientific, religious and social life in Amasya; consequently, it is an educational institution that has a voice both in our country and in the world with the students who are in the center.
