Abstract
This study was conducted in three ecologically managed cherry orchards in the provinces of Izmir and Manisa during 1998 and 1999. A total of 28 insect species belonging to 21 genera were collected mainly by sticky yellow traps as well as beating and sweeping. These included Agallia consobrina (Curtis), Peragalia avicula (Ribaut), Aphrodes albifrons (L.), A. assimilis (Signoret), Idiocerus herrichi (Kirschbaum), I. lituratus (Fallen), L populi (L.), Cicadella viridis (L.), Alebra albostriella (Fallen), Asymmetrasca decedens (Paoli), Empoasca decipiens (Paoli), Edwardsiana rosae (L.), E. salicicola (Edwards), Eupteryx pavlovskii (Zachvatkin), Anoploteattix fuscovenosus (Ferrari), Doratura homophyla (Flor), Euscelis lineolatus (Brulle), Fieberiella florii (Stal), Mocydia crocea (Herrich-Schaffer), Neoaliturus fenestratus (Herrich-Schaffer), Osbornellus macchiae (Lindberg), Phlepsius ornatus (Perris), Psammotettix alienus (Dahlbom), A provincialis (Ribaut), Selenocephalus conspersus (Herrich-Schaffer), S.griseus (Fieber), Thamnotettix creticus (Diabola) and T. zelleri (Kirschbaum). Among these, A. decedens and E. decipiens were more abundant than others and Peragalia avicula is a new record for the Turkish fauna.
